Piercing Placement
Tongue Piercings
Healing Time: 1 – 2 months Pain Level: Medium
Among oral piercings, the tongue piercing is one of the fastest to heal and becomes comfortable sooner than the others. Smiley and Marley (tongue web) are placed through the upper or lower lip frenulum, while venom and frowney require symmetrical placements at different points on the tongue.
Swelling during the first week is normal. Sucking on ice a few times a day and sticking to cold, liquid food brings the swelling down quickly. For full aftercare, see our piercing aftercare page.
